My name is Adam Purple (no, not the guy with the garden in NYC; but yes, I used to blog about energy and climate at SeacoastNRG). I make my living by other means, but I wish to some day be known as a writer.
As of this writing (note the irony), I am a writer, not, and named this blog accordingly. Other names did come to mind. For example, I am also a brain surgeon, not. I was tempted to go with porn star, not. I decided not.
I started this blog as a means of practicing the craft, and as a place to document the process of writing—and perhaps publishing—my novel, which I have been working on steadily merely since 2004.
No, I am not yet done with it. [No longer true. Or rather, I am done with it, though it may not be finished. It is back in my desk drawer, and perhaps it will need to stay there. I am now working on a new novel.]
No, I have never made a dime from creative writing. But maybe someday.
Be aware that in addition to writing about writing, I drop the occasional aside relating to pop culture. Or thermodynamics. It happens.
